Hive is one of the best board games with different characteristics. The main objective is to add more and more pieces to capture the opposing Queen Bee. As the Beetles climb up to the top, at the same time soldier ants battle against Beetles and keep control of the outside of the hive. The Spiders will move into holding positions when the Grasshoppers jump in to kill them. Once your Queen Bee will engulf from your opponents then your game will be over. The included single player mode includes 4 levels of difficulty with a beginner settings.
As you progress in the game, it becomes hard to master like other classic games. The interface elements indicate where a player may move or place their pieces to make the game easier. You can challenge AI opponents or your friends in this multiplayer game. The game allows you to select different sets of pieces and different colored backgrounds. It includes the Mosquito, a parasitic new Hive piece that take over the capabilities of its neighbors.
You can use your Mosquito as an extra Ant, Beetle or Spider. The two different players also can play with each other using only one device. As you defeat each level, the next level will be is unlocked. The Hive's four tile sets include a wooden set with the Hive 2nd Edition artwork, a plastic set with the official Hive 3rd Edition artwork and a third set which is designed by LotusLand Studios. Its high contrast black and white 'Carbon' set is specifically designed for outdoor play.
